Vasakh Film Festival

Formed in 2008, Vasakh has been established with the specific objective of creating a critical mass by sensitizing the youth on issues of human rights, equal citizenship, gender equality and religious tolerance through the medium of documentary films. This festival provides a platform for aspiring documentary filmmakers to not only showcase their own work but to get exposed to documentary films from around the world.

Maat TV and Interactive Resource Centre are organizing the 13th Online Vasakh Film Festival from 27-29th January in association with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and Documentary Association of Pakistan (DAP). Films made by Pakistani and Internationally recognized filmmakers on the themes of Human Rights, Democracy, and Cultural Diversity will be showcased.

This year, the team has introduced a new category for the upcoming aspiring filmmakers to share their work. The winner will get a cash prize of PKR 25,000 and a chance to work with Maati TV as a video correspondent.

To submit your documentaries as a formal entry at our festival, email us at contact@maatitv.com with the film’s synopsis and the bio of the director. We are only accepting films made from 2018-2020. The films should be less than 30 minutes and are to be submitted via password-protected links. The deadline for submission is December 31st, 2020.
