Pakistan consists of four provinces and each province has its own traditional dances and songs. According to the research, thirteen types of dances are found in Pakistan. They are Attan, Khattak dance, Chitrali dance, Bhangra, Sammi, Luddi, Giddha, Leva, Jhumer, Chap, Ho Jamalo, Dhamal, and Jhumro. Each dance has its own importance according to the provinces.
Dance has been a part of society from an early age. It is a type of body language used to communicate or to express something. This mode of communication was used even before people could read and write. Yes, dances are that old!
However, in recent years, our various tribal dance forms are becoming extinct. Information about them is lost. According to the research, most of the Chitrali tribal dances are forgotten by its people and information about dances of the province of Balochistan were also not available.
